Arthur Lee McDaniel was Jim Quessenberry's best friend and constant companion — the man Jim called his "partner-in-crime." A genuine cowboy from Birdeye, Arthur was the kind of friend who showed up when it mattered and disappeared when the trouble started (sometimes the cause of it).
Arthur is the man behind the legendary Year of the Bullfrog prank — he supplied the frog. He was present for the Smokestack Lightning interview tapes conducted by Lolis Eric Elie, sitting alongside Jim and talking through the early days of barbecue, the circuit, and the life they built together in the Arkansas Delta.
He was an integral part of the early production team for Sauce Beautiful and Spice Beautiful, handling mixing and packaging alongside Jim, Donna, Lee, and Michael.
