John Shoup was the producer of the Great Chefs of Southern Barbecue television special, which aired in 1991 and provided Jim Quessenberry with significant national airtime.
The special captured Jim's cooking philosophy and technique at a time when barbecue was transitioning from a regional craft to a national obsession. Shoup's production brought Jim's story to living rooms across America.
